Description

This cherry wood display bowl was made from the knotty burl of a large cherry tree. Its bark edge remains intact due to the skill of Dan Dresen, who not only turned the bowl but also harvested the burl from a fallen tree on his land. Burls make such meaningful bowls because there is truly no repeating the patterns and textures you find within one. Each burl has its own personality and cutting into one for the first time is an unmatched moment of anticipation for wood turners.

This particular cherry bowl has a wide and shallow form which makes it perfect for displaying vivid red and green apples or decorative elements. It has a deep red hue and a light contrasting stripe that arcs across the surface.
