Beginning Woodworking Class: Modern Wall Shelf (Full-Day Workshop)

Looking for a great way to get started in woodworking? This beginning woodworking class will guide you through building a beautiful modern wall shelf that adds both style and function to your home.

In this full-day workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of woodworking while creating a finished piece perfect for displaying plants, pottery, small art pieces, or favorite keepsakes. The design features a clean vertical backboard with three floating-style shelves, creating a striking modern look that works in many spaces.

Students will start with rough hardwood and learn key woodworking skills including layout, safe machine use, shaping, sanding, and assembly. Along the way, you’ll gain confidence using woodworking tools and learn techniques that can be applied to many future projects.

Each participant will build their own shelf and can choose from a selection of hardwoods to create a piece that reflects their personal style. The finished shelf is designed to hang securely on the wall and makes a beautiful addition to any room.

This class is designed for beginners but is also enjoyable for those with some experience who want a fun, satisfying project to complete in a day.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll head home with a finished wall shelf and a solid introduction to woodworking skills you can build on in future projects.

No prior woodworking experience is necessary. All materials, tools, and instruction are included.
