A Two-Part Woodturning Class (Beginner-Friendly)
Create a beautiful and functional salt & pepper shaker set on the lathe—perfect for your kitchen or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
In this two-part class, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of turning a matched set of shakers from solid hardwood. You’ll build skills progressively, completing one shaker in each session while developing confidence and control on the lathe.
Part 1: Group Session
We’ll begin together in a supportive group setting where you’ll:
- Learn lathe safety and basic woodturning techniques
- Practice tool control and shaping cuts
- Turn and shape your first shaker
- Begin sanding and refining the surface
Part 2: Individual Follow-Up Session
Return for a one-on-one session tailored to you, where you’ll:
- Turn your second shaker with improved technique and confidence
- Focus on creating a matching profile
- Refine shaping, sanding, and finishing skills
- Drill and fit shaker tops for a polished final set
By the end of the class, you’ll have a handcrafted salt & pepper set and a strong foundation in woodturning fundamentals.
No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity.
