Description
This cabinet table by Ric Bass features a design in woodworking referred to as “book-ending” where an artisan will take a thick piece of intricately designed wood and cut it into two thinner pieces, folding them open like a book, to create a mirror image. By doing this twice in his creation, Ric Bass was able to create a beautiful image on the cabinet door which to the artist’s eye resemble an aerial view of a bird in flight. The beauty of the river birch is only increased through the artist’s creativity in design.
